Sr RF Systems Validation Engineer
Comet Technologies USA
San Jose, California, United States
Aram Muzhikyan is a Sr. RF Systems Validation Engineer at Comet Technologies USA. During his five years at Comet, Aram was actively involved in various aspects of design and validation of RF power delivery systems, including design of RF matching networks, development of impedance calibration methods for RF matching networks, development of RF sensor calibration methods, development of automated tests for advanced product performance characterization, design validation testing (DVT), and accelerated life testing (ALT). Additionally, Aram is responsible for training other engineers and technicians to perform the calibration and testing of outgoing products.
Before joining Comet in 2020, Aram was a graduate student at Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College where he sought to develop new methods for the reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable integration of variable renewable energy resources into the electric power grid. He developed a novel approach called “Electric Power Enterprise Control System” (EPECS) simulation that simulates not just the physical flows of electric power in the power grid, but also describes the dynamic behavior of the grid’s controllers, and wholesale electricity markets. This holistic approach was, in many ways, well ahead of the existing literature in power systems journals and certainly ahead of the existing practice amongst power system operators. The Electric Power Enterprise Control System (EPECS) concept was adopted by ISO New England, one of the country’s six major wholesale electricity market operators responsible for ~$10B in annual electricity market turnover.
