Jillian Marks is a dedicated and skilled chemical engineer who graduated from Bucknell University in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Currently, Jillian is participating in the Engineering Leadership Development Program at EMD Electronics in Hometown, PA.
In Jillian's first role in the ELDP program, she served as a Production Engineer. In this role, she provided technical and troubleshooting support in 24/7 fluorine and fluorine derivative production facilities. She actively participated in safety processes and projects aimed at improving safety in hazardous manufacturing environments. Jillian also formulated tools and methods to enhance operability and efficiency within the production processes. This was completed with the motivation to support strategic, data-driven decisions.
In Jillian's current role she is serving as a Specialty Gases Research and Development Chemical Engineer. She is aiding in the reintroduction of Fluorine capabilities into the R&D lab through new product development efforts. In this role, she has worked through the hazard assessment process, completed first principles thermal reactor design, and learned experimental design concepts. She has aided in the building and commissioning of a lab scale Fluorine gas synthesis system. She has also completed extensive network building throughout this rotation to better understand and support the company. Jillian will complete one additional rotation within Electronics to complete the ELDP program.
In addition to her technical roles, Jillian is involved in the Electronics Women’s Success Network aiming to foster the professional and personal development of Women through networking, wellness, and service. Additionally, Jillian has completed multiple trainings and attended conferences supported by EMD Electronics to help learn and positively impact performance. Jillian is committed to leveraging her skills and experiences to contribute to advancements in chemical engineering.
