The size, value, and global importance of the semiconductor industry makes it a high value target for cyber criminals. Future attacks are inevitable. Even though factories have a standard operating procedure to protect themselves, expecting individual factories to be wholly responsible for securing their entire operations is not feasible. The Semiconductor Manufacturing Cybersecurity Consortium is tackling this challenge head on, with a standards based approach and vision of a future where all levels of the chip supply chain are safe.
